**Article on definition of productive unit in an insolvency context**
On July 19, Diario La Ley published an article by our principal associate **Carlos Lama** on *Concepto de unidad productiva en el ámbito concursal* (Definition of productive unit in an insolvency context).
**Garrigues contributes to new issue of journal Revista de Derecho Concursal y Paraconcursal**
**Adrián Thery**, **Juan Verdugo** and **Andrés Gutiérrez** all contributed to the latest issue of the journal with articles on *Directiva de reestructuraciones, capitalización de créditos y gobierno corporativo* (Restructuring Directive, debt-for-equity swaps and corporate governance) \[Thery\], *Inmunidad de pagos por tercero y garantías cruzadas contextuales: ¿una capa más, o menos, de “blindaje concursal”? (Comentario a la STS (Sala 1ª), de 19 de diciembre de 2018)* (Immunity of third party payments and contextual cross collateralization: one more, or less, layer of insolvency protection? (Commentary on the Supreme Court judgment (Chamber One) of December 19, 2018)) \[Verdugo\], together with adaptations to Spanish of the works of Italian authors Rordorf and Falcone \[Gutiérrez\].
**Convention on legal mechanisms in the twenty-first century, organized by Superintendencia de Sociedades de Colombia**
Garrigues partner **Adrián Thery** took part on October 11 in Bogota (Colombia) in a panel on the subject of company rescue in judicial reorganizations to produce competitive, productive and lasting companies, within a convention on legal mechanisms in the twenty-first century (*[Instituciones jurídicas en el siglo XXI](https://www.supersociedades.gov.co/Noticias/Paginas/2019/Instituciones-Juridicas-en-el-Siglo-XXI.aspx)*), organized by the Colombian government’s supervisory authority for companies (*Superintendencia de Sociedades de Colombia*).
**New investors’ guide 'Distress transactions in Spain: A brief investor’s guide to financing, asset, share and debt deals'**
Thomson Reuters Aranzadi has published *Distress transactions in Spain: A brief investor’s guide to financing, asset, share and debt deals*, a guide for investors coordinated by Garrigues partner **Juan Verdugo**. Drawing on the experience collected by Garrigues over the years, the work helps purchasers, sellers and advisors in the *distressed* market use all the tools available to make the most of the Spanish *distressed* assets market.
**Seminar on EU Early Restructuring Directive**
On October 30, **Adrián Thery** took part in the roundtable on the subject of restructuring scenarios and duties of company directors in the [Seminar](http://eventos.ucm.es/39884/programme/la-directiva-europea-sobre-reestructuracion-temprana-20191023.html) on the EU Early Restructuring Directive 2019/2023 held at Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
**Article on clawback actions in insolvency proceedings and how they could affect family group restructurings**

**Seminar on new perspectives for real estate collateral**
On December 12, Garrigues partner **Borja García-Alamán** and lecturers **Andrés Gutiérrez** and **Iván Heredia** took part in a seminar on real estate collateral to be held at Spanish registrars’ association Colegio de Registradores de España, and co-organized by that institution and registration law unit Centro de Derecho Registral, at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.
