# Portugal: The application process for the Compromisso Emprego Mais Sustentável measure is extended up until March 2023

**The deadline for submitting applications to the Compromisso Emprego Sustentável measure was extended up until March 31, 2023.**
The Compromisso Emprego Sustentável measure was created by the [Ordinance no. 38/2022](https://dre.pt/dre/detalhe/portaria/38-2022-177634370), of January 27th, and consists on granting financial support to employers in order to encourage the permanent hiring of unemployed individuals registered before IEFP, I. P., complemented by the attribution of financial support regarding the payment of social security contributions during the first year of employment contracts.
The financial support for each job position corresponds to 12 times the value of IAS: 5,765.16€.
This support is increased by 25% (i) for hiring employees up to 35 years old, (ii) when the base remuneration is equal or higher than two times the RMMG, (iii) when the job position is located in rural areas, according to the [Ordinance no. 208/2017](https://dre.pt/dre/detalhe/portaria/208-2017-107684448), of July 13th (iv) when the employer is part of a negotiated IRCT, and by 35% (i) for hiring employees with disabilities.
In terms of Social Security, the financial support granted to the employers corresponds to half of the amount of their contribution, during the first year of the employment contract.
