Garrigues is the only law firm this year to achieve the distinction (published last Saturday in the Official State Gazette), which has been awarded to companies in different sectors since 2010. Garrigues’ Human Resources Manager, Lourdes Ramos, expressed her satisfaction with the distinction, as “recognition of the work carried out by Garrigues in recent years to promote equal opportunity for women at the firm”. She said that “equal opportunity is one of our fundamental values and a top management priority, apart from being one of the key factors in recruiting the best professionals. We are proud of this recognition of our commitment”. With the aim of ensuring the best possible development of its professionals, in 2008, Garrigues implemented its first *Equal Opportunity Plan*, a pioneer in the sector. Year after year, the firm’s Equal Opportunity Committee monitors the measures which, to date, have been measurable. In 2017, a *Second Equal Opportunity Plan* was launched and aimed at continuing along the same lines. Recent measures implemented by Garrigues include, amongst others, the *Mentoring Program*, aimed at providing support to female professionals to establish valuable relationships, as well as tools and methods to assist them with their professional development at the firm. The *Garrigues Optimum Plan* offers reduced working hours during the year following maternity/paternity leave.
