The awards, which have a long-standing reputation in the legal industry, recognize aspects as important as strategy, management and client service at the best firms operating in continental Europe, Latin America, Asia, Australia, the Middle East and Africa. Garrigues, receiving the accolade for the first time, was singled out for its international expansion and, in particular, its strategic commitment to Latin America, becoming the European law firm with the largest office network in the region. The firm currently has offices in Brazil, Colombia, Mexico and Peru, boasting more than sixty Latin American lawyers practicing local law. The panel also valued Garrigues’ established presence in other markets in Asia, Africa, Europe and North America, a distinguishing factor in the firm’s goal of becoming an international legal brand. Within Garrigues’ strategic vision, Legal Business also took into account the firm’s growth and stability in a year still marked by the complex economic situation, as well as the culmination of the firm’s institutionalization, with the appointment of Fernando Vives as executive chairman. The award also acknowledges the firm’s ongoing innovation in client service and its commitment to talent, being ranked among the best companies to work for. “We take particular pride in this accolade because, in addition to recognizing the work and efforts of our team, it is a major boost to our internationalization strategy,” explained Fernando Vives. One of the most eminent awards Garrigues received the award at the ceremony held last night in London, which brought together the main players in the international legal community. Currently celebrating their eighteenth year and presented in more than twenty different categories, the Legal Business awards are among the most esteemed in the industry.
