Garrigues leads the field in its two categories: billings and number of professionals. In 2005, the Firm’s billings amounted to €193.6 million. With regards to the second category, the number of professionals at Garrigues increased to 1,525. The Firm currently has 1,800 people on its staff, including practitioners and support personnel. Once again, Garrigues leads the annual ranking of Spanish law firms published by the financial newspaper Expansión. Expansión highlighted the healthy state of the Spanish legal industry, which experienced growth of 13% in the last year (four times that of the Spanish economy), stating that, “law firms have known how to make the most of the Spanish economic boom and movements by Spanish companies abroad”. The high number of takeover bids and venture capital transactions are among the underlying factors behind these good results.
