# Garrigues takes runner-up spot in Infrastructure Journal’s international ranking of renewable energy deals

The UK publication Infrastructure Journal has just released its 2008 ranking, in which Garrigues takes the runner-up spot for its advisory services in renewable energy deals, second only to the law firm Linklaters. In the words of the review, "Garrigues closed an impressive 33 renewables transactions, topping IJ's H2 2008 table, almost exclusively as a result of the firm's role in Spanish solar energy deals".
The UK publication Infrastructure Journal has just released its 2008 ranking, in which Garrigues takes the runner-up spot for its advisory services in renewable energy deals, second only to the law firm Linklaters. In the words of the review, "Garrigues closed an impressive 33 renewables transactions, topping IJ's H2 2008 table, almost exclusively as a result of the firm's role in Spanish solar energy deals".
Garrigues has also received another accolade, this time from the legal review TopLegal International, which has named it the “2008 Law Firm of the Year”. As the January issue of the journal explained, " The key to Garrigues’ success in 2008 has been the development of an Iberian-led international strategy. The firm has leveraged off the global reach of Spanish clients and expanded into CEE and made strides with its China practice. Garrigues is delivering on its promise to become a genuinely international firm".
**Among the top 100 firm in terms of billings**
Garrigues’ volume of business has also enabled it to gain a foothold among the world’s leading law firms. The 2008 Global 500 Annual Report, published by the Managing Partners’ Forum, placed Garrigues 94th among the top 100 firms by billings, up three places on last year’s ranking. Garrigues took 280th place in the general professional services firms ranking.
