# Garrigues opens a new office in Beijing and enhances its presence on the Asian market

Garrigues recently opened a new international office in Beijing with a view to increasing and extending its legal services throughout Asia, after being present on the Asian continent for more than 20 years. The new office will offer quicker and more efficient service to clients located in and around Beijing, and will promote new business opportunities with large international companies whose interests lie in the Chinese capital.
The office in Beijing, headed by partner Manuel Torres, will also strengthen the bonds between our firm and the principal institutions and political and economic decision-making centers in China, and will make this capacity available to our clients. The new office, already fully operative, is located in the China World Trade Center, in the heart of the capital city’s financial district, and is able to offer direct counsel in all corporate, labor, IP and tax law areas.
The two offices (Beijing and Shanghai) form the nucleus of the integrated legal services offered by Garrigues in Asia, with a team of more than 20 lawyers specialized according to practice areas and capable of offering tailored services to international clients interested in entering the Chinese market, as well as to Chinese investors whose sights are set on other continents. In fact, one of the greatest advantages offered by Garrigues in China lies in its role as a gateway through which Chinese traders can enter the Latin American market, on which Garrigues has an actual presence and its own offices in Colombia, Mexico, Peru and an international law office in Brazil.
The new office in Beijing is one more milestone in the international expansion process of Garrigues, which stands firm as the only Spanish law firm with two offices and a permanent structure of local and international lawyers in China. The firm, which this year celebrated the tenth anniversary of the opening of the Shanghai office, shows no sign of slowing its growth in China after more than two decades of experience in corporate law.
