The award, to which the major Spanish and Portuguese law firms aspire, was also won by the firm two years ago. This year, Garrigues was also shortlisted in another two categories: ‘Global Strategic Initiative of the Year’ and ‘European Law Firm of the Year’, where it was the only Spanish law firm in the running.** The judging panel highlighted Garrigues’ international expansion, particularly in Latin America, and the internal transformation of the firm. *The Lawyer* also stressed the strong direction of the firm and its commitment to diversity and to technological advancement, with pioneering projects such as the robot Proces@, developed by the firm to offer clients greater efficiency and enhanced quality of work. The award also takes into account the transactions on which the firm’s professionals have advised in recent months, as well as profitability and financial results over the year, in which the growth obtained in Latin America has been particularly noteworthy. Garrigues already has a team of more than 150 lawyers in the region, with offices in Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Chile and Brazil. The executive chairman of Garrigues, Fernando Vives, explained how this accolade provides an incentive to the firm to continue moving forward and innovating: “This award from *The Lawyer* recognizes the work of the entire firm in a year in which major advances have been made, such as the Garrigues Innovation Think Tank, a purely strategic initiative that is enabling us to enhance and modernize our relationships with our clients and the services we offer them. Without a doubt, this accolade inspires us to keep on working and innovating.” Specialist publication *The Lawyer* is one of the most prestigious in the British market.
