# Garrigues named European Law Firm of the Year by Legal Week

Garrigues was named European Law Firm of the Year by international legal publication *Legal Week* at the 2015 British Legal Awards held last night in London. One of the most prestigious awards in the UK legal services industry, the British Legal Awards recognize leading firms, teams and professionals in the market that have excelled due to their achievements in 2015.
The awards ceremony, organized by *Legal Week* in association with The City of London Law Society, brought together over one thousand eminent lawyers from UK and international firms. This is the second time Garrigues has received this accolade (after previously winning in 2011). In its assessment, the publication considered that Garrigues has known how to maintain a high degree of innovation in its legal practice, with a well-defined strategic vision and commitment to talent. In terms of internal management, the award recognized the improvements made in the financial management of the firm, its ongoing dedication to corporate social responsibility and, above all, its ability to adapt to its clients’ needs at all times.
Among the projects undertaken this year, the award credited Garrigues’ network of offices in Latin America (the largest such network among European firms), the recent opening of the Beijing office, and the culmination of the institutionalization of the firm with the appointment of Fernando Vives as executive chairman.
“This recognition, along with all of the awards we have received in 2015, confirms the stability and consistency shown by Garrigues and its ability to generate added-value in the services it provides to its clients”, explained Fernando Vives.
