**In the first nine months of the year, Garrigues closed 60 deals according to Mergermarket data**





Garrigues has won the award for the leading **M&amp;A firm** in Spain. This accolade is awarded each year by **Mergermarket**, one of the leading specialist M&amp;A publications, with a view to recognizing the work of legal and financial advisers on the biggest deals of the year in Europe. This is the third time Garrigues has won the award.

In the first nine months of the year, Garrigues closed 60 deals according to **Mergermarket** data, making it the leading firm in terms of number of deals. The value of the **M&amp;A deals** advised on by the firm in the period was €44,142 million. One of the traits that sets Garrigues apart from other firms is precisely its capacity to lead the rankings on both accounts: in terms of value, as the caliber of its domestic clients (83% of the companies listed on the Ibex 35 worked with the firm in 2017) and its international clients enable it to be present in major deals, and in terms of number of deals, due to its extensive coverage of the Spanish market, with offices in 18 cities.
