# Clients single out Garrigues as Firm of the Year in Spain

For the third time, Garrigues has picked up the International Law Office Client Choice Award

Making it a hat trick, Garrigues walked off with the ‘Client Choice Award 2013’ in the Spanish category. The accolade is handed out every year by the International Law Office review for excellence in client service and the ability to offer added value that stands out from the rest of the industry. International Law Office has been awarding these accolades since 2005 in more than 50 countries the world over. Garrigues had already emerged victorious from the 2007 and 2010 ceremonies.
“Here at Garrigues, providing added value lies at the heart of what we do. This is why receiving an award chosen precisely by clients is so gratifying,” noted Garrigues’ Managing Partner [**Fernando Vives**](/es/Socios/Paginas/fernando_vives_ruiz.aspx "Fernando Vives - ").
At the awards ceremony staged last night in London, the spotlight was also shone on the individual work of three Garrigues professionals in their respective practice areas. Fernando Vives, Managing Partner at Garrigues, picked up honors in the General Corporate category; as did [**Ignacio Corchuelo**](/es/Socios/Paginas/ignacio_corchuelo_martinez-azua.aspx), Partner in the Labor and Employment Department in the Employment category and [**Luis Ortiz**](/es/Socios/Paginas/luis_ortizblanco.aspx), EU and Competition Partner in the Competition area.
The selection of the winning firms and professionals was based on reports and face-to-face interviews with clients. Noteworthy among the aspects assessed are the quality of legal advice offered by firms, in-depth business know-how, ongoing and fluid communication with clients, transparency, use of new technology, professional experience of the team and response time when faced with a particular problem.
