Garrigues defines itself as an international, independent and innovative law firm. These adjectives are and have been the hallmarks of Garrigues throughout its 80-year history. In 1973 we became the first Spanish law firm to open offices in New York and, forty years later, we are once again breaking new ground with our strategic plan for Latin America, the focus of our international expansion. Remaining true to our principles, we have opted to gradually open own offices. We are a unique firm with an integrated management model and a solid team of professionals who all share the same business culture. We believe that this is the best way to offer our clients a quality service that exceeds their expectations anywhere in the world.
A client-centric strategy
Garrigues’ main clients are large and medium-sized local companies, as well as multinationals and international investors seeking advice on cross-border transactions. Our business model is based not only on assisting clients with their investments in the market but also on getting to know their business and the sector in which they operate, in order to offer an effective service, tailored to their particular needs. This approach enables us to create solid, long-lasting client relationships: in the last five years, more than three thousand clients have been with us on an ongoing basis.
Leadership in Latin America
Having been present in the region for four decades, in 2013 Garrigues embarked on a major program of expansion into Latin America, by committing to the opening of own offices, with local teams that share Garrigues’ strategic vision and quality standards. With offices in four countries (Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru) and a team of more than one hundred and forty people, Garrigues is a unique firm in Latin America due to its integrated management model, its strong presence in the region and the wide range of professional services offered. The aim over the coming years is to continue to grow and consolidate our position in Latin America.
Committed to talent, equality and diversity
The recognition, attraction and retention of talent will shape the Garrigues’ future development. Our team numbers more than two thousand people of twenty five different nationalities, operating out of thirty-one offices in twelve countries. We know that the solution to the future challenges we face lies in our people and in a diversity of ideas and perspectives. That is why Garrigues has been committed to nondiscrimination and equal opportunities from the very outset. We strive to offer the best possible working environment, so that each individual’s professional capabilities can be developed and acknowledged.
Committed to technology and innovation
Garrigues is at the forefront of the transformation of the legal services industry. Innovation forms part of everything we do in order to improve the service we offer to our clients, internal management and to deliver new solutions to the complex problems of legal practice. Against this backdrop, Garrigues is strongly committed to technology as a means of setting ourselves apart and creating added value for our clients and professionals. We are currently leading several data intelligence and robotization projects with a view to enhancing productivity and making our services more secure.
