The primary focus of the New York office is two-fold: On the one hand, we assist our North American and Canadian-based clients under Spanish law on a various corporate and tax matters, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity, finance, restructurings and capital markets matters, and advise them in their investment structures in “real time”.

On the other, we accompany the Firm’s clients during the early stages of their investments in the U.S. and Canada, advising them on matters ranging from U.S. corporate and commercial legal issues and day to day operations coordinating with leading U.S. firms and allies on complex domestic transactions, tax and regulatory matters, among others.

In addition, through our offices in Colombia, Perú, Mexico, Chile and Brazil we offer a full service platform from which our clients may reach much of Latin America.

Garrigues was one of the first European firms to establish an office in the United States, when the firm opened an office in New York office in 1973.
