Garrigues named International Law Firm of the Year at The Lawyer Awards

Garrigues scooped up the International Law Firm of the Year accolade at the annual awards ceremony held by UK legal magazine The Lawyer and in doing so became the first law firm from a non English speaking country to triumph in this category, since it was created five years ago. This year Garrigues competed with five US legal giants: Weil Gotshal & Manges (which came second), Paul Hastings (third), along with Hogan Lovells, Debevoise & Plimpton and Quinn Emanuel.

Garrigues will open its own office in Brazil and reaches an association with Schmidt, Valois, Miranda, Ferreira & Agel - Advogados

The Partners’ Meeting of Garrigues, the largest firm in Continental Europe, based in Spain and Portugal, has resolved that Garrigues will request the Brazilian Bar Association (Ordem dos Advogados do Brasil - OAB) the authorization to operate as a foreign law firm in Brazil.

Garrigues and AENOR will offset Carbon Expo 2010

Garrigues Medio Ambiente, the consultancy branch of Garrigues, will inventory and offset CARBON EXPO 2010 GHG emissions, being the process verified by AENOR. Such offsetting services were also provided in Carbon Expo 2009.

Garrigues signs a cooperation agreement with the Indian firm Dua Associates

Garrigues has just entered into a non-exclusive cooperation agreement with the Indian law firm Dua Associates – another step forward in the Firm’s international strategy and, more precisely, in its firm commitment to this market.
