Roberto Ortiz de Urbina Caballero is a senior associate in the tax practice.
Since his start in 1984, he has gained a wealth of experience in the areas of general taxation, the tax treatment of financial institutions, the electricity sector, corporate mergers, acquisitions and reorganizations, as well as in all matters relating to tax/administrative proceedings and their related appeals and claims.
In addition to his ongoing tax advice to major players in the above sectors, in recent years he has focused a large part of his professional practice in the Autonomous Community of Cantabria, where he has been collaborating with the most relevant companies in that Community.
He is a member of the Official Auditors Registry (R.O.A.C.) and of the Basque Economists Association (Ekonomisten Euskal Elkargoa).
Degree in Economics and Business Administration, Universidad Comercial de Deusto.
He has been a speaker in multiple courses taught and organized by both Garrigues and various entities and associations, including the CEOE-CEPYME of Cantabria, the Cantabria Chamber of Commerce or the Cantabrian Family Business Association, with which he has been a regular collaborator.
He is the author of numerous articles in the press and specialist publications, and is currently the head of tax publications at Garrigues’ Bilbao office.
