José Miguel Caballero Real
José Miguel Caballero is counsel in the Labor and Employment Law Practice. He joined Garrigues’ Labor and Employment Law Department in Seville in 1997 after heading the Technical Departments of UGT-Sevilla (1990-1994) and UGT-Andalucía (1994-1997).
He specializes in labor and employment law, with extensive experience in the area of collective labor relations and labor union law, collective bargaining, equality and anti-harassment policies and labor codes of conduct, supplementary welfare benefits, and litigation. He also provides ongoing advice on labor, labor union and collective bargaining matters at industry level and to top-level Spanish and multinational companies in the industrial, food and agriculture, and services sectors.
He has also participated in some of the most important court proceedings on collective matters at regional and national level conducted at the various High Courts of Justice, the National Appellate Court and the Supreme Court.
José Miguel Caballero has been included in the Best Lawyers directory since 2011, and was designated Lawyer of the Year (Labor and Employment Law) in 2014.
He is a lecturer at Instituto Internacional San Telmo in the area of Human Behavior in the Organization, where he teaches classes on people management systems. He has also taught for over fifteen years as an associate lecturer in the Employment and Social Security Law Department of Universidad de Sevilla, as well as at several business schools.
He is a member of the Seville Bar Association, the Spanish Employment Law Association and the Labor Relations Committee of the Andalucía Employers Confederation.
