José Domingo Peñafiel is a principal associate of the tax practice at the Santiago de Chile office.
He has extensive expertise in advising domestic and foreign clients on tax matters, which is complemented by the fact he served as part of the Chilean Ministry of Finance’s staff as tax policy advisor (2010 – 2014).
He was a member of the Private Donations Committee established under the Cultural Donations Law, representing the Ministry of Finance (2013 – 2014).
He has previously worked at Claro & Cía. and at Avendaño Merino Abogados, as well as privately.
He has lectured on the Tax Law I and Tax Law II courses at Universidad de Los Andes since 2015 and is assistant lecturer to the Tax Chair at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. He has also taught the specialist course in international taxation at the same university since 2016.
