Francisco de Borja Ríos González
Borja Ríos is a principal associate in the Labor and Employment Law department of Garrigues’s Vigo office.
His professional practice centers mainly on providing legal advice to companies and public authorities on a range of employment law and social security matters.
He has extensive experience in representing clients before all levels of the labor courts and in providing advice on corporate restructurings (adopting both individual and collective measures), transfers of undertakings (business subrogation) and workforce renewals and reorganizations, among others. He also provides advice to executives (e.g. on hirings, terminations and golden parachute clauses) and expatriates.
Worthy of particular note is his work in the area of collective bargaining, participating in collective dispute processes in the context of collective layoff procedures, collective labor agreements, material modifications to working conditions of a collective nature and opt-outs from labor agreement conditions.
He currently lectures on the Labor Relations Course forming part of the Degree in Business Administration and Management (BBA) offered by the Afundación Business School of Vigo, as well as on the Master’s Degree in Business Law at Universidad de Vigo.
He is a regular speaker at a range of employment law-related seminars, conferences and platforms.
