Elena is a senior associate in the Litigation and Arbitration practice.
She has extensive experience in all stages of civil proceedings (first instance, appeal and cassation), as well as in ad hoc and institutional arbitration proceedings before different domestic and international arbitration courts.
An important part of her practice concerns matters with an international dimension, assisting foreign clients who have interests in Spain and acting as a liaison between Spanish clients and foreign law firms.
She is specialized in unfair competition proceedings, commercial litigation, real state matters (proceedings to establish title, actions to declare or recover title, boundaries, mortgage law), company law or civil matters (inheritances, declarations of disability) as well as in actions for damages.
In particular, she assesses and represents companies in civil claims for damages arising from infringements of Competition Law.
Likewise, she has defended companies in proceedings with the antitrust authorities, assisting clients in on-site inspections.
She has been a member of the Madrid Bar Association since 2003.

Academic background:

Master’s Degree in European Law (LL M), the College of Europe, Bruges (Belgium).
Degree in Law and Economics, Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. Best academic record of the class of 2003 in combined studies in law and economics.


In recent years she has published several articles in the newspaper La Verdad de Murcia, such as “Fines to directors for infractions of Competition Law committed by the company“ (*), “Compensation for Damages arising from Competition Law Infringements” (*), “The Crisis, Defaults and Claims” (*), “Streamlining Judicial Claims” (*) and “Debt Claims in Europe” (*), “Developments in Competition Law” (*) published in the monthly Bulletin of the Cartagena Official Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Shipping as well as the publication “Fines to directors for competition law infringements” (*) in the newspaper Diario Información de Alicante.
