Ana María López Piñeiro is a senior associate in the Administrative Law practice area.
She has extensive experience in providing administrative law advice to companies and public authorities on matters relating to administrative law in general and environmental and energy law in particular.
Her experience covers, among other areas, work to secure the administrative permits and authorizations necessary to pursue activities with a possible impact on the environment. She has also been involved in conducting numerous reviews of the legal/administrative situations of companies with possible contingencies in the administrative and environmental fields (analysis of significant environmental risks for the preparation of financial statements, environmental audits for the acquisition of companies and specific legal coverage for the performance of such acquisition transactions, among others). She has also drafted various legal opinions on administrative law and advised on the wording of special administrative terms of tender and technical specifications for the indirect provision of a wide range of public services.
She has acted as legal counsel in numerous judicial reviews and has provided legal assistance in administrative proceedings to individuals, companies and public authorities, as well as in penalty proceedings and proceedings for the recovery of subsidies.
In the energy practice area (particularly renewable energy), she has advised developers on the legal viability of planned energy generation facilities and participated in due diligence reviews in processes for the sale and purchase of industrial assets linked to renewable energy generation facilities and in processes for the restructuring of such undertakings.
She has assisted the autonomous community authorities in the drafting of legislation – preliminary bills and implementing regulations – mainly in areas relating to environmental law, industrial safety, social services and mobility.
She has participated in conferences organized by Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo (UIMP) and has delivered numerous courses and presentations on administrative and environmental law at Caixanova Business School, Ourense Chamber of Commerce, the Association of Construction Businesses (APEC), the Financial and Business Training Institute (IFFE), the Public Administration School of Galicia and the Legal Practice Schools of A Coruña and Santiago de Compostela Bar Associations.
