Ana Garrote is a partner in the Litigation and Arbitration Department at Garrigues, where she has pursued her professional career since 1999.
She has a wealth of experience of civil and corporate/commercial litigation and is an expert in contractual and noncontractual civil liability.
She has taken part in some of the most noteworthy, high-profile litigation proceedings in the Spanish legal arena, defending the interests of major Spanish and multinational companies. Over the course of her career, she has successfully acted on all manner of contractual and noncontractual disputes, as well as litigating in the area of corporate law, damage deriving from antitrust-related unlawful conduct, unfair competition, etc. The clients whose interests she has defended hail from a broad array of industries: audiovisual, telecommunications, transport, construction, real estate, tourism, insurance, energy, to name but a few. In particular, she has a solid track record in the area of seeking/defending injunctive relief and dealings with the Supreme Court.
Her professional experience also has ties to the world of arbitration. She has extensive experience of ad hoc arbitration proceedings and dealings with the leading institutions, with notable expertise in energy industry-related arbitrations.
She is a regular speaker at seminars and conferences staged by the Firm and in the world of academia. She acts as a guest speaker as a practicing lawyer at various forums on access to and relations with the justice system. She won the First Essay Competition of the Madrid Bar Association’s Young Lawyers’ Group.
She is a Lecturer on Litigation on the Master’s Degree in Intellectual Property at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.
