Alex Pujol practices law with a focus on financial law in the broad sense. Accordingly, he has worked on myriad projects and transactions for clients in the financial services industry (credit institutions, investment services firms, collective investment undertakings, insurance companies, listed companies and private equity firms), advising on compliance and corporate governance matters, securities issues (corporate debt in particular), public offerings, tender offers, and compensation systems for directors, senior managers and employees of listed companies, as well as mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures carried out by the above entities.
In recent years, Alex has focused intensely on the venture capital and private equity industry, where he is a renowned expert on matters relating, among others, to fund structuring and creation, agreements between investors and managers, venture debt and numerous corporate investments and divestments, in particular in the financial and technology sectors.
In addition to the main practice areas noted above, Alex has advised on many corporate restructurings and transactions for multinational and Spanish groups, and he acts as legal counsel and secretary of the board of directors at numerous companies.
Alex Pujol received the “40 under 40” award granted by the publication Iberian Lawyer, in its 2011 edition. He has repeatedly appeared as a notable practitioner in his practice areas in the main legal directories (Chambers, Legal 500 and Best Lawyers, among others). Chambers Europe 2014 noted that Alex “impresses clients with his methodology focused on finding solutions. He resolves problems before they arise, has great initiative and is practical and thorough.”
He is an associate professor at Universidad Pompeu Fabra, where he teaches a course on contracts. He is also a professor in the Business Law Master’s organized by the Barcelona Bar Association, at the Legal Practice School organized by the same institution and in the Legal Profession Master’s offered by Universidad Pompeu Fabra, and he frequently participates as a speaker in executive programs at Centro de Estudios Garrigues. Alex is also a frequent speaker at the Entrepreneurship Institute and the Business Angels Academy at the ESADE as well as in seminars and conferences organized by the Firm and myriad institutional forums.
Alex Pujol is a member of the Barcelona Bar Association.

Alex has published legal articles in myriad domestic and international specialist publications, including the International Financial Law Review (London), Gazette du Palais (Paris), MondoHedge (Rome), as well as in generalist publications such as La Vanguardia.
