Sixth edition of The Restructuring Review 2013

The British publishing house Law Business Research has released the 2013 edition of The Restructuring Review, which compiles and summarizes the main developments that have occurred worldwide in the legal market for business insolvencies and restructurings.

Garrigues’ Restructuring and Insolvency team, led by Antonio Fernández and comprising partners Borja García-Alamán, Adrián Thery and Juan Verdugo, have consolidated the main cases and legislative developments occurring in Spain over 2012/2013.

Specifically, the Spanish chapter of this guide highlights the impact of the current crisis in the Spanish sector, marked by a slowdown in lending and an increase in the number of formally insolvent debtors (up 27.1 per cent compared with 2011). In addition to looking into the Spanish formal and informal insolvency proceedings, the Spanish team analyses the most recent developments, in terms of restructuring and resolution of credit institutions or loan refinancing and restructuring, and the most significant transactions in increasingly active industries, such as banking, media or energy.

This edition of The Restructuring Review will be featured, among others, at the IBA Annual Conference in Boston, October 2013, at INSOL’s International Annual Regional Conference in Hong Kong, March 2014 and at the 20th Annual Global Insolvency and Restructuring Conference, in Barcelona, May 2014. Additionally, it is also available as eBook and PDF document (http://thelawreviews.co.uk/download/edition/876/the-restructuring-review/Abre ventana nueva).

Christopher Mallon, editor of the review and partner at the US firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, has once again sought out Garrigues’ professional input as leader in its field in Spain and due to its renowned international prestige in the area of restructurings and insolvency. In preparing the review, the editor also received contributions from 24 other law firms and lawyers representing major multinational companies, such as Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP (USA); King & Wood Mallesons (China); Dentons (France); Baker & McKenzie (Japan).
