Garrigues scoops the IFLR award for ‘Law Firm of the Year: Spain’

The Firm has taken the top prize on six occasions

Garrigues has won the award for ‘Law Firm of the Year: Spain’ handed out every year by the specialist Euromoney journal the International Financial Law Review (IFLR). This marks the sixth time the Firm has taken top honors at the international awards ceremony, now in its thirteenth year. The IFLR previously singled out Garrigues as Spain’s leading law firm in 2004, 2006, 2010 and 2011. Moreover, in 2007, Garrigues also picked up the award for M&A deal of the year.

This time round, the panel of judges assessed the body of work carried out by professionals from Garrigues over the course of the last year. To this end, the publication conducted a detailed analysis, taking into account the innovation borne out by high-profile deals covering various jurisdictions. The awards ceremony took place on Wednesday evening at a gala dinner staged at London’s Dorchester Hotel, attended by representatives from a host of European firms.

“This is a major accolade for the Firm due to its prestige and the fact that it is based on client feedback. Providing added value to our clients is the Firm’s principal objective,” explained Garrigues’ Managing Partner Fernando Vives.

The award takes its place among the honors picked up by Garrigues in recent months, in the wake of the “Client Trust Award” handed out by the journal Iberian Lawyer at the Premios Oro España award ceremony, and the 2013 Client Choice Award for Firm of the Year in Spain from the legal review International Law Office.
