As from February 1, Garrigues will have its own office in Logroño, following the integration of the Beltrán law firm, a practice specializing in labor law with a long-standing tradition in La Rioja. In keeping with the Firm’s core values, the strategic aim is to convert it into a multidisciplinary firm as soon as possible.

The new Logroño office will be managed by the Rioja firm’s founder Fernando Beltrán, who will join Garrigues as a Partner, an appointment due to be ratified at the Firm’s next Partners’ Meeting (Garrigues overall managing body).

In organizational terms, the office will report to Garrigues Norte, which already comprises the Bilbao, San Sebastian, Vitoria and Pamplona offices, thus taking the number of offices in Garrigues’ Iberian network – present in almost all of the autonomous communities – to 28.

An expert in labor and social security law and occupational risk prevention, Fernando Beltrán has advised on numerous company restructurings and has negotiated both industry-wide and company-specific collective layoff procedures and collective labor agreements. He is a member of the Spanish Employers Confederation’s Labor Relations and Health, Social Security and Occupational Risk Prevention Committees; he sits on the General Council of the Spanish Occupational Health and Safety Institute, and forms part of the Board of Directors of the Spanish Confederation of Savings Banks (CECA). Among other roles, he has also presided over the Savings Banks Association for Labor Relations (ACARL). He has been Chairman of Caja Rioja and its foundation since 1995.
