In the Canary Islands, Garrigues has offices in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, founded in 1997, and in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, inaugurated in 1999.
The office specializes in tax and legal advice, with a particular emphasis on administrative and zoning law, labor and employment law, corporate/commercial law (mergers, acquisitions, company reorganizations), litigation (all kinds of court and arbitration proceedings) and maritime and transportation law.
Furthermore, the tax practice has extensive experience in all matters related to the Canary Islands Economic and Tax Regime (REF), in the recent tax opportunities yielded by the creation of the Special Canary Islands Zone and in integral tax advice, including aspects such as investment by nonresidents in the Canary Islands. We also provide integral advisory services on family business-related matters.
The Firm currently has a team of forty professionals working out of the two offices.
Our clients are public and private enterprises from all sectors of the economy. We also act for individuals in certain cases.
Given the Canary Islands’ specialization in the leisure and tourism markets, a large majority of our clients operate in the tourism industry, as well as in the real estate construction and promotion, distribution and retail markets.
