Rafael Benítez is a partner in the Tax Department at Garrigues (Seville office), where he has pursued his professional career since moving from Arthur Andersen. He specializes in Tax Law, primarily in tax litigation, with most of his work focused on VAT, corporate income tax and local taxation.
He is responsible for the technical management of numerous tax procedures, economic-administrative claims and appeals for judicial review in litigation relating to taxes of all kinds.
He is an expert in public sector taxation and has advised countless public sector entities and companies on a broad range of tax matters.
He is a Lecturer on the Master’s Degree in Taxation at Universidad Loyola Andalucía and on several programs run by the Instituto de Estudios Cajasol in Seville (Executive Tax Advisor Program, Expert Course in Management and Administration of Not-for-Profit Organizations). He has also been a Lecturer on the Master’s Degree in Taxation at the University of Seville.
He is also a regular speaker at seminars and conferences staged by the Firm and by various specialized centers and Associations.
He is a member of the Seville Bar Association and of the Spanish Tax Advisors Association (AEDAF).
